We ordered this phone to use in the US on the GSM network. The phone works great and is perfect for our situation.
I want to thank Kazuto Tominaga for his excellent customer service and recommendations. He was very patient and knowledgeable about which phone should work best for our needs. We would order again in the future. Thanks.

Firstly. I just want to say Kazuto's customer service is first rate. By far the best experience I ever had buying a phone online. Throughout the process Kazuto’s communication was amazing, he let me know what was going on throughout the process and sorted out shipping arrangements during the COVID-19 situation. A Very pleasant and patient person and always offering the best advice.
As for the phone, the Gratina 4G is excellent. Being android, I was able to sideload all the apps I needed and even a T9 keypad input app. It works well connected to Wi-Fi and the touchpad is very easy to browse the web with. It works properly on the 850mhz (band 5) and 2100mhz (band 1) 3G bands here in New Zealand.
Can’t wait to buy my next flip phone from Kyoex.

I bought the Gratina 4G as my secondary phone for the basic functions of calling and texting. However I was pleasantly surprised and impressed that is has a great camera, good battery life and WiFi connectivity which enables me to surf the web and have access to basic apps like Whatsapp and Instagram. Although the phone does not have a touch screen, it has a cool feature called the touch cruiser pointer which allows the user to scroll up and down the screen using the finger over the keypad. Although I would like to continue raving about the phone, more importantly though I would like to share my pleasant experience of dealing with Mr Kazuto Tominaga who was very pleasant, friendly, and extremely helpful and responsive to all my queries right from Day One. He in fact helped me choose this model as I had some other models in mind which did not have WiFi connectivity (he helped highlight this to me as I was unaware of it). He was in constant contact with me throughout the whole process, right up till the point that I received the phone. After that, I had some questions about the phone's features and he provided excellent after sales service by helping me solve my problems. I strongly recommend KYOEX to anyone who would love to own a Japanese flip phone. Thank you very much Mr Tominaga for all your help and support!

I bought this with the intent to replace the old flip phone I had been using. It was working fine, but being stuck on English & Spanish as my only language options along with a lack of customization beyond caller tones, no app store, & a very weak camera had me search for a phone that offered Japanese, more customization, and was generally better. If you're like me, I've never been a fan of smartphones as they lack what I love about flip phones: Buttons & the clam-shell design. Alas, most stores these days are lucky to offer any flip phones for sale, let alone any that had Japanese.
Since the purchase, I have been satisfied with what it can do. It's customization reaches beyond caller tones (Alerts & SMS tones), manner/silent mode is just the push of a button, and it more importantly offers Japanese as a language option. I am able to make calls & receive SMS (I use it in the US & my carrier is T-Mobile.) The pointer feature takes some time to learn, but I've gotten used to it. All in all, things work like a charm (although you may have to manually input settings such as the APN network for your carrier & have a SMS app installed before sending messages.)
So why is this review rated 4 stars then? Well unlike my old phone this one does not have a headphone jack, so if you want to listen to your media in peace you're out of luck unless you have one of those USB headphones. Regardless of what phone manufacturers say, I find headphone jacks to be integral. There are also some features that only work in Japan, but they aren't too big of a deal. Also if you plan on playing games on this device, your library is likely going to be limited to what doesn't require quick reflexes or rely on touch screens, again I don't think it's too much of a big deal as long as you don't mind playing simple titles like Snake.
Overall, this device offers the best of both worlds by fulfilling the niche of flip phones & having enough smart phone functionality that doesn't teeter the user towards smartphone addiction due to the sacrifice of touch screen convenience.
Beyond the device itself, I was provided excellent service from Mr. Tominaga as he helped me navigate into the world of Japanese phones & provided me useful information that I couldn't find on the web.
