 Product Reviews

  1. Everything I needed and more.

Posted by Katherine Duweck on 9th Mar 2017

There is a extensive review of the HTV31 already, so I'll keep my review short and simple.

I needed a business phone but I also wanted a phone that's fun to use. The HTV31 fits the bill perfectly. Set-up was easy and I've had zero issues using the HTV31 in the States. Battery life is excellent.

I absolutely recommend the HTV31 and Kyoex. I've been purchasing my phones through Kyoex since 2013.

  3. Nice phone, with quircks

Posted by D Veenvliet on 1st Mar 2016

After owning the HTC Butterfly 1, and really liking it I took a chance and ordered the J Butterfly from kyoex.com.

I was very pleased with the service and received the phone within a week (in the Netherlands).

I am very happy with my device, but also have some critique.

It is a very good looking phone. I really like the red. It feels nice in my hand as well, though it has quite a big body, and it's not light. They didn't use the space very efficiently. The screen is only marginally bigger than my previous phone (that had a 5 inch screen), but the body seems much larger. Also... the fact that they put the home button in the screen now in stead of outside it means you lose a lot of useful area in your screen. So actually... though it is bigger... it looks and feels just like my old 5 inch screen. But much prettier! It's very sharp and comfortable... also nicely responsive.

Fun detail about owning a Japanese phone. When I go check the weather. It first gives me my home town, and second Tokyo. Makes me smile. I had to change the keyboard and some other settings to make the phone work the way I am used to here, but that was easy.

There are three buttons on one side... two volume and the power one... the power button has a different texture to the other two, but they can be hard to tell apart. Also.. because they put the headphone input on the bottom, if you put the phone in your pocket with the headphone at the top, you can't reach the volume buttons easily.

The audio from the stereo speakers on the front is great. Also the in call sound is nice, though I need to get used to how to hold the phone.

It has a really nice camera. The selfie camera works well too. I am not sure the secondary camera really does much... I hope I can find a way to access the raw data and play with depth information myself. The pictures come out nice though.

The battery lasts 1 day for me with normal use... which is... ok... well what we're used to nowadays.

On a side note... it took me a week to figure out I wasn't on the mobile data network (I am on wifi a lot). I had to enter the network information myself manually. It was fixed within 10 minutes, but for a moment I thought I bought a phone that couldn't work on my network.

Right now I have to say I am very happy with the phone. The designers made some really weird choices (screen use, button layout)... but none that I can't live with. Given the choice I would buy it again.
