I borrowed that review title from the Merchant in Aladdin, because I couldn't think of a title... but it's a bit of a lie. As the Sharp SH-02G has far from a common-place appearance.
I've had this phone for less than a week, but I did want to write a review of my experience with it so far. I'm a heavy phone user. I am constantly on my phone for work or for personal matters, and my phone preceding this one was a Galaxy Note 3. The SH-02G runs on an Android Kit-Kat operating system which brings familiarity to it, with Disneyness added... everywhere.
There's a Mickey mouse head in the bottom right hand corner, theres a castle in silvery holographic on the back. When you turn the screen off, the fade to black is a Mickey-mouse silhouette transition. I love it. There's a sparkly Mickey earphone jack plug, that triggers animations of Elsa, Mikey, Olaf and the moose from Frozen galavanting around on the screen. The earphone jack actually lights up as well, and with the coloured LED's on the bottom, it kind of looks like a disco-party in your pocket.
The phone is fast and responsive. It takes well to many applications, and also multi-tasks with many programs open. When you take photos, Mickey Mouse or a magical spell makes a sound instead of the shutter. There's snow falling in the background and wherever you touch a little magic stream appears.
The Sharp OS also comes with something called "EMOPA" which sometimes speaks to you. It says things (in Japanese) like, "I've only got 10% battery left, if you don't charge me soon, I'll pass out". I wish it spoke english too. The disappointment with this phone is that it is pre-loaded with so many wonderful Disney applications (like the Illumination App) which does not work overseas. I think the one I miss the most is the Illumination app, as you can't take advantage of all the colours and the changing of the home page, but you can do some primitive changes through Android Settings.
The phone internet is fast, and connects almost all the time to the 4G network here in Australia. It's a beautiful phone, with a gorgeous screen that goes edge to edge. At times, when you turn it on, a sprinkle of stars zips around the edges in a super-cool animation. The camera is good, and takes some lovely shots.
The phone, I would give 4 stars due to the fact I can't play with everything... but the reason I give it 5 is because Kazuto has been a godsend throughout this whole process. Patient, lovely to speak to, and kind, Kazuto always patiently answers all my questions especially when I was deciding between phones. My phone also came with a case (which was great as Sharp phones don't exist in Australia), and 2 screen protectors, which was amazing. The customer service is impeccable here, and I wouldn't recommend anywhere else to get your keitai from Kyoex. This is my third from them, and it won't be the last.
TL;DR : If you are a Disney fan, you'll love this phone. If you love Keitai, buy from Kyoex. Where else can you get a top-of-the-line phone with Olaf skimming around the screen, Elsa casting spells on you, or Mickey and Minnie exhibiting too much PDA and drawing love hearts all over your phone screen?
